Terms of use

The simple rules that apply to using this site, its forms and our content.

Using the site

This site presents Athenae Initiative (Initiative Athènae), a non-profit organization in Québec, and its public programming. By using it you accept these terms. Please use it respectfully and do not reproduce its content in a misleading way.

The text, images and other content on this site belong to Athenae or to their authors and are protected by the Copyright Act. You may quote short excerpts with credit to the source. Any other reproduction requires our written permission. Texts published in Articles remain the property of their authors.

Submissions

If you send us a text or file, you confirm that you wrote it or have the right to send it. We publish nothing without your explicit agreement. The information you provide is handled according to our privacy policy.

Events

Our events are free unless stated otherwise on the event page. Times, venues and programs may change; we announce changes on the site. For any paid event, refund conditions are shown before purchase.

Photos and recordings

If photography or recording is planned at an event, we announce it on site and on the event page. We do not publish images in which a person is recognizable without their consent (or their parent’s or guardian’s, for a minor). If you want an image removed, write to us.

Donations

Donations are processed by an external payment provider. Donation terms, including receipts, are shown on the donation form before you confirm.

The site may link to third-party sites. We do not control their content or practices.

Liability

We do our best to keep the content accurate and current, but it is provided as is. Athenae cannot be held liable for damages arising from use of the site, to the extent the law permits.

Language

These terms are written in French first. The English version is provided for convenience. The parties have required that these terms be drawn up in French; if the two versions differ, the French version prevails.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Québec have jurisdiction.
